To use client-side encryption you first need to create a new channel.
After doing so navigate to the 'Options Tab'.
Scroll down to find the option that is called 'Client-side encryption'. Check the box and 'Save'.
A lock icon will pop up in the top right corner to indicate a client-side encrypted channel.
You can now filter all client-side encrypted channels from the top bar.
